I never wanted to be better than my friends. I just wanted to prove wrong the people in my head. The ones who told me I’d be better of dead. The ones who told me that I would never win

A magical Bon Iver cover.

I have such a soft spot for this particular cover.

I think being educated is extremely crucial and valuable. But, I don’t think years of schooling is necessary to be “educated”.
You can be extremely intelligent and cultured, but dropped out of high school because of so and so. Does that make you a less educated individual? Of course it doesn’t.
I don’t like how society has deemed it “bad” or “lazy” if one has not gone to college and is stuck with a 9-5 job like the rest of the world. That just seems boring and too boxed in for my taste.

The desire to dominate exists in the self, but why is it so rarely felt as the desire to dominate the self? To subordinate and win control over one’s worst urges and tendencies? It spins outwards instead. Other people seem easier to take control over than oneself, because other people appear static and one’s self is always shifting.

ReadPDF 1.0 was rejected from the app store last night. “That’s good of the iPad app store.. they tell you exactly what’s missing,” said my girlfriend, “Its nice of them.”

I couldn’t agree more. ReadPDF was rejected because of its iTunes sync support, which was atrocious. I should have shipped…

Unfortunately, ReadPDF was rejected by the App Store folks last week, while I was traveling without a laptop. Having just got back, I’ve resubmitted the binary. It’s been exactly one month since I first submitted ReadPDF to Apple.

What now?

This time, I didn’t follow Apple’s Human Interface…

I thought the most beautiful thing in the world must be shadow, the million moving shapes and cul-de-sacs of shadow. There was shadow in bureau drawers and closets and suitcases, and shadow under houses and trees and stones, and shadow at the back of people’s eyes and smiles, and shadow, miles and miles and miles of it, on the night side of the earth.

Another week, another recap. So, who pre-ordered iPhone 4? Not many of us, I imagine, seeing as it sold out in an afternoon (don’t feel bad, I missed it too). But you’ve heard that already, let’s get to what you may not have heard this past week:

This week’s…

Sometimes I’m terrified of my heart; of its constant hunger for whatever it is it wants. The way it stops and starts.
